TJ CANLON

 mover, shaker, laugh-maker.

TJ Canlon is a theater artist, writer, and born New Yorker. Performing since she learned to walk, her first steps were site specific and highly anticipated by critics and fans alike. Watching old movies, memorizing the choreography, and playing all the parts in her living room ignited her passion for multitasking in theatrical disciplines. As a kid, she began working professionally in feature films such as I am Legend, as well as TV shows The Sopranos and Law and Order. She retired her child acting career to participate in her 5th grade science fair. She holds a BFA in dance from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee, with a concentration in choreography.

Most recently, TJ co-wrote, choreographed, and performed in a dune parody musical called Dunesical that made its NYC premiere and sold out two extended runs in downtown NYC. In her element as a creative, she is passionate about bridging communication gaps between artists of all genres. Combining her background as a dancer and actor with her learned exposure to music composition, intimacy coordination, and stretching all the way to acrobatic disciplines, TJ facilitates a smooth and supportive experience for everyone in the room. Her choreography has been featured at Lollapalooza, IRT Theater, Theater for the New City, Boston Symphony Hall, Bridge for Dance NYC, and Boston Center for the Arts.

Through it all, TJ hopes to some day learn to ride a bike.
